It’s been a while since we’ve taken a trip to quick care but not so long that the doctors don’t remember us. Last night Sport tried to one-up his brother for stitches by running his head into the coffee table. Despite the initial blood and crying it turned into a very lovely evening.

Sport was okay after a band aid and his Lightning McQueen ice pack. I parked him in front of Animal Planet and finished making dinner. Jay got home and we ate dinner just like every other night. I told Sport to grab his shoes we were going to see the doctor. He was happy to go and Buddy was happy to tell him the stitches were going to hurt. Nice one.

Quick care has always been anything but quick. It’s typically a four hour event and has you wondering the whole time if you made the right decision to even go. Last night was wonderful and we even had a good time. In and out in under and hour, it was fantastic. We played in the waiting room, Sport entertained all the nurses, and we even got to skip the stitches. The doctor glued him up and he was very patient with it all.

We were done and home in time to get ready for bed. Instead of a trip to the doctor it felt more like a trip to the park and some one on one time. It was fun. The downside is we somehow have to keep his head dry and out of the sun for five days. Tomorrow is water day at school. The doctor also said he has to avoid hitting his head. Yeah, that’s gonna happen.

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am glad real life happens to other people as well. Glad Sport was okay and just needed a little glue.
